We followed Jason's advice and tried this out today. What a gem!
We walk into the restaurant and the pop music gets turned off and replaced with Arabic music to maintain the necessary illusions.
The owner and everyone else working was exceptionally friendly. It felt like we were having dinner at a close relative's house, not a restaurant in Chi-town.
The menu is small, but everything on the menu is excellent. This will definitely be a necessary stop each time I visit my favorite city.

Oh, so fantastic! Though extremely unbusy, the atmosphere was inviting. The service was attentive yet relaxed. Our group of six spent nearly three hours lingering over appetizers and stretching out tea and dessert--I really appreciated the way our server paced out the arrival of the appetizers so we could enjoy our food and conversation in a leisurely manner.
The food quality was top-notch, and the prices modest. A very refreshing and flavorful change of pace!

Marrakech Cuisine was quite a find! I'm so glad Dave found an article about this restaurant and made plans for us to visit it while we were in Chicago. All of the food was excellent and the service was extremely warm and friendly. A couple of us ordered tea throughout the meal and by the end our server brought out tea for all of us and said it was on the house.
This is the kind of place I would visit regularly if I lived in Chicago and I will definitely stop by the next time I'm in town.
Beware that it was a little chilly while we were there so be sure to wear something warm under your coat. Also, as mentioned in the article to which Dave linked, don't be scared off if you're the only people there. We were the first group to arrive and there was only one other table occupied when we left. Maybe that's why it was chilly? At any rate, word must not have spread yet, but rest assured that when it does, it will be packed. Get in while you can!
The restaurant also doubles as a gift shop. I didn't do any serious browsing, but there was a lot of nice stuff and I'd like to go prepared to bring home a nice lamp or floor cushion next time. As we left I noticed that the other group had a hookah pipe on their table and I was so jealous! I guess you can get hookah there too. I'm know what I'm doing after dinner next time!
