The Original Pancake House was founded in Portland, Oregon in 1953 by Les Highet and Erma Hueneke. Drawing upon their many years of experience in the culinary field, and their extensive working knowledge of authentic national and ethnic pancake recipes they were able to offer without compromise this unique and original menu which has gained national acclaim. The Original Pancake House is a second and third generation family business, which takes great pride in maintaining the high standards that make our food so outstanding. We now have over ninety franchises from coast to coast, which have won local and national acclaim. Our recipes demand only the very finest of ingredients, such as 93 score butter, pure 36% whipping cream, fresh grade AA eggs, hard wheat unbleached flour, and our own recipe sourdough starter. Our batters and sauces are made fresh in each restaurant’s kitchen.

This might be a nationwide restaurant, but it doesn't have a chain feel to it. The food is quality and you really can't go wrong with anything on the menu.
The service is great, and the food is quite filling. This can easily serve as your only meal of the day.

THANK GOD(S) they present the option of the "half order" when it comes to the pancakes. That's what I wish every restaurant would do.
'tis like IHOP in that it offers a glut of excess, however the quality is so much higher that you'll probably be okay. I would advise the half-orders, though--for me it was still a veritable mountain of pancake and was even pushing the envelope for what I ought to have been eating by myself.
They serve non-dairy creamer with your coffee instead of milk...I don't know what kind but there ya go. However, they don't make ANY of their pancakes milk-free--this wasn't a problem for me but it can be a roadblock for some.
Nice place, though. I'd certainly go back.
